Each Semester InterVarsity offers an Apprenticeship Cohort for student who are interested in growing as leaders in their faith & on their campus. The Cohort is open to any current undergrad Chapman students who consider themselves followers of Jesus, and who are interested in discerning the possibility of serving as leaders with InterVarsity in the coming semester or year.

What is the time commitment?

Each cohort will meet all together bi-weekly (every other week) on Sunday Evenings for a time of teaching, community, and spiritual formation. 

In addition each apprentice will be paired with a student leader, who they will meet with bi-weekly (every other week) for a time of 1-on-1 discipleship and leadership skills training. On the off weeks each apprentice will be putting their training into practice in practical ways. 

Finally, apprentices will be invited to an optional Worship & Prayer night, along with the InterVarsity Leaders team on every 4th Sunday Night. This is a space that the Leaders have created as a "tithe" of our time - a space set aside for connecting with God instead of planning and strategizing.

Is a leadership position guaranteed?

The Apprentice Cohort is a semester-long discernment process, therefore a leadership role in InterVarsity is not expected, nor is it guaranteed. Our hope is that every student who participates in the cohort will grow as a disciple of Jesus, and hear clearly from God regarding their future leadership or servant role with the fellowship. 

At the end of the semester, each Apprentice will be able to sit down with a student leader and/or staff for a conversation about what next steps would best suit them given their experience of apprenticeship, their life with God, and their other obligations on campus.

​Some students may join the leadership team, others may join servant teams, and some may decide to simply be committed members of the InterVarsity community. Each is equally valuable, and it is our belief that whatever students decide is their best decision if it is made with God.
